In addition to conducting African research, the Center of African Studies devotes itself to cultivating talents specializing in African studies for the development of this field in our country. Since 1996, Professor Liu Hongwu began to recruit master students and doctoral students who are specialized in World History (African History), International Relations ( about Africa). So far, there are 11 doctoral students and 36 master students who obtained their Doctoral or Master’s Degree respectively, some of whom have become excellent young researchers in this field of study in our country. From 2008 to 2010, sponsored by the China Scholarship Council, there are 3 doctoral students and 6 master students have got the chance to study in many African countries( Zambia, Tanzania, Nigeria, Kenya ). Currently, the center includes 4 doctoral students and 12 master students.
