2019年2月3日，非洲研究中心李湘云老师应邀在坦桑尼亚中国文化中心做学术交流，为慕名而来的中国留学生、中资企业代表和旅坦华侨带来了一场思想盛宴。李老师以《风云激荡三十年，坦桑几度换新颜——坦桑尼亚国父尼雷尔其人其事》为题，详细讲述了坦桑尼亚国父尼雷尔总统任职期间，经历过的桑给巴尔与坦噶尼喀联合、坦桑尼亚革命党的建立、坦乌战争等重要历史事件。

本次活动由坦桑尼亚中国文化中心、《华侨周报》社、中坦旅游餐饮协会联合举办。

On February 3, 2019, Ms. Li, from African Studies Center of Yunnan University, was invited to conduct academic exchanges at the Chinese Cultural Center of Tanzania, bringing a banquet of   thoughts to the audience consisting of Chinese students, representatives of Chinese enterprises and overseas Chinese in Tanzania. Ms. Li, gave a speech on " Ups and Downs for 30 Years: Stories of Julius Kambarage Nyerere —Father of Tanzania ", depicting in detail important historical events in Tanzania such as Zanzibar's union with Tanganyika, the establishment of the revolutionary party of Tanzania and the war between Tanzania and Uganda during the period of President Nyerere, the founding father of Tanzania.

The event was jointly organized by the Chinese Culture Center of Tanzania, the Overseas Chinese Weekly, and the Tourism and Catering association of Tanzania and China.
