为认真贯彻落实教育部、财政部、国家发改委《关于高等学校加快“双一流”建设的指导意见》（教研[2018]5号）和《云南省人民政府关于支持云南大学加快世界一流大学建设的意见》（云政发[2018]31号）的精神，主动服务和融入国家发展战略，云南大学、云南省商务厅共同成立乐“中国海外企业经营环境及企业劳动力素质调查”课题，旨在深入了解当前中国“走出去”企业面临的问题和困难，了解当地员工对中资企业的看法，并就中央和地方各级相关部门在“一带一路”倡议下如何进一步支持不同类型的中国企业“走出去”提出政策建议，同时为企业如何更好地融入当地社会提供调研报告。
2019年4月18日，由云南大学非洲研究中心博士研究生、海南大学外国语学院赵冬老师任团长，非洲研究中心博士研究生朱力轲和孙利珍、硕士研究生杨志、刘芮吟和李昊哲以及国际关系研究院博士研究生王云裳和邓云斐为团员组建而成的调研团队奔赴南非，开展了为期22天的调研活动。
调研团队主要在约翰内斯堡、茨瓦内、开普敦和纳尔逊曼德拉湾这四个城市展开企业调研活动。期间，团队拜会了中国驻南非大使馆、驻约堡总领馆和驻开普敦总领馆并举行了座谈会。此次调研工作得到了与会领导的高度赞赏和大力支持。此外，团队还拜访了南非中国经贸协会和南部非洲上海工商联谊总会并交流了有关调研工作的相关事宜，同样得到了对方的大力支持和协助。
在南期间，团队不仅调研了以中国银行、中国工商银行、中国建设银行、中远海运、中国钢铁、中国电信、国家电网、中国一汽、思维铂业、中车集团、中国港湾、海信集团等为代表的大中型国有企业，还调研了包括华为集团、四达时代、创维集团、冀东水泥、新希望南非有限公司、瑞雅实业、亨通光电、丰收集团、博达集团等在内的大中型民营企业。
2019年5月11日，调研团队圆满完成既定调研任务启程回国。

From April 19 to May 10, 2019, the research team, headed by Zhao Dong, Ph.D. candidate of the Center for African Studies of Yunnan University and the teacher of School of Foreign Languages of Hainan University, carried out a survey on business environment and labor quality of Chinese overseas enterprises in South Africa. Other team members are Ph.D. candidates Zhu Like, Sun Lizhen, Wang Yunshang, and Deng Yunfei, and postgraduate students Yang Zhi, Liu Ruiyin, and Li Haozhe.
The survey was carried out mainly in four cities: Johannesburg, Tshwane, Cape Town and Nelson Mandela Bay. During the stay in South Africa, the team also paid official calls on the Chinese Embassy in South Africa, and the Consulate Generals in Johannesburg and Cape Town. The research project was highly appreciated and strongly supported by the participating leaders. In addition, the team also visited the South African China Economic and Trade Association and the Southern Africa Shanghai Chamber of Commerce, and also received strong support and assistance.
While in South Africa, the team surveyed some state-owned enterprises like the Bank of China, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, China Construction Bank, CRRC, COSCO Shipping, SINOSTEEL, China Telecom, FAW, and State Grid, as well as some private enterprises like Huawei, Star Times, Skyworth, Jidong Cement, Harvest Group, KOT Group and New Hope Group.
On May 11, 2019, the research team successfully completed the established research tasks and returned to China.
